Product Overview
Using standard Personal Computer (PC) hardware along with OpenVox A800P PCI cards allows home users and business customers alike to build inexpensive Internet Protocol Private Branch Exchange (IP PBX) platforms. The A800P is a full-length, 8-port Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) card and is fully compatible with Digium® TDM800P card and modules. The A800P is compatible with leading open source IP PBX software such as Asterisk®, Trixbox®, and Elastix® (OpenVox are an Elastix® Strategic partner), which support all the sophisticated features of expensive high-end PBX/Voicemail platforms. OpenVox are a Fonality® Authorized / Certified Ecosystem (FACE) partner and the OpenVox A800P is officially certified for use with Trixbox®.
Feature Summary
  • Firmware accelerates I/O processes to achieve high stability and significantly decreased CPU payload, an A800P with 8 modules installed uses less CPU cycles than a Digium® TDM400P with 4 modules installed
  • High quality components: OpenVox use the same Tiger Jet 320G PCI controller on the PCI card and the same Silicon Labs chips on the FXS / FXO modules used by Digium®

IP BPX System Requirements
Installation requires an IP PBX system with the following:
  • Spare PCI 2.2 slot: 5v and 3.3v PCI buses supported
  • Spare 12v power connector from the PC power supply: Same connector used to power hard/optical disks (only required for operation of FXS module)
The minimum requirements to support the card are: 800MHz processor, 128MB RAM, Linux kernel 2.4.X or 2.6.X (2.6.X recommended). However, IP PBX system requirements are dependant on the open source telephony software being used and on the number of simultaneous calls to be supported. Two examples are provided in the table below:
